Noi Bai unveils first sleeping pods

Vietnam Airlines Tourism Company (VATC) has installed the first ever sleeping pods in Noi Bai International Airport to serve the passengers.

VATC's head of business department Pham Anh Tu told Viet Nam News that the pods with the area of 4sq.m and the height of 3m each will serve the passengers with private and fully-equipped facilities space that shield them from surrounding noise, light and crowds in the airport.

Passengers will enjoy free drinks and light food in the pods that are designed like mini hotels with beds, storage space for luggage and other valuables, as well as a power source for laptops, mobiles and other electronic devices. They can also access to a free wireless internet in the pods.
Tu added there were 14 single and twin pods available at terminal 1 of Noi Bai International Airport. The passengers can rent the pods in hour, half day and whole day. Prices for each pod are listed from VND210,000 (US$10) to VND1.8 million ($85).
Tu also said his company would offer a discount of 20 per cent for passenger who booked the pod from July 22 to August 5, adding that travellers of VietJet Air may have free access to the pods thanks to the current co-operation between VACT and the airline.
Noi Bai Airport is the first airport in Viet Nam to install the pods.
