Nha Trang becomes increasingly favorite destination for Chinese tourists
In the ten months of 2018, Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa province welcomed more than 5 million visitors, marking a 115% rise from the same period last year.
The number of Chinese visitors to Nha Trang, the beach city in central Khanh Hoa province in the ten months through October is estimated at 1.4 million, a 156% jump from the same period last year, Dan Tri newspaper cited statistics from the Khanh Hoa province Department of Tourism as saying.
Accordingly, the number of visitors to Nha Trang in the first ten months of 2018 is estimated at 5.3 million, marking a 115% rise from the same period last year.
Of the total holidaymakers in the ten months, over 3 million were domestic tourists, making a 101% rise from the same period last year. Meanwhile, Nha Trang welcomed over 2.3 million foreign visitors, a 141% increase from the same period last year.
The provincial department noted foreign visitors to Nha Trang are mainly from China and Russia. The beach destination is also a favorite destination for Russian tourists, who totaled more than 330,000 in the 10-month period, a 103% increase from the same period last year.
In addition, the provincial People’s Committee has announced a plan to organize the 9th Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival, which takes place from May 11 to 14, 2019.
Many kinds of culture, art, sport and tourism activities will be held in the 9th edition of the festival. The festival aims to promote the cultural value of Vietnam, particularly Nha Trang. The event is also part of activities in response to the National Tourism Year 2019 hosted by Khanh Hoa province.
According to the plan, the opening ceremony of the festival and the 2019 National Tourism Year is scheduled to be held on the evening of May 11 while the closing ceremony will be on May 14.
