Fire put out at a protected forest reserve in Da Lat

Local firefighters on the night of April 7 put out a fire at the protection forest reserve on Prenn Pass in Da Lat City in Lam Dong Province, the Central Highlands, Vietnam. Russia and Vietnam in discussions to build nuclear research center and reaction plant

Russia and Vietnam are expected to sign a contract to build a new nuclear studies center and a nuclear plant in the latter during the next few months, Russian Deputy PM Dmitry Chernyshenko said on April 7 at his visit to the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute. The two sides are in talks to finalize an agreement on the development of the feasibility report for the project.

The construction of Vietnam’s nuclear research center was initiated under the Vietnam-Russia Inter-Governmental Agreement 2011. The Vietnamese Government approved the project plan in 2018. In the field of atomic energy, the Soviet Union helped Vietnam restore and upgrade a nuclear plant in Lam Dong Province’s Da Lat City. Both sides expect the bilateral relations will be bolstered in the future.

Four students hospitalized for using e-cigarettes in Hanoi

Four students of Ha Dong High School in Hanoi have been hospitalized for using e-cigarette products at school, reported the Police Department of Ha Dong District. Of the four students, three are at grade 10 and the other one is an 11th grader. The students were taken to the medical center in fainting after having shared e-cigarettes with their friends.

All four students are now in stable condition. Despite harmful effects, smoking e-cigarettes is now a new trend among students as it may prove someone’s coolness to others. According to the Hanoi Health Department, e-cigarettes contain nicotine and other good-smell ingredients. Illegal products may also contain drugs, heroin, and other unlicensed substances that cause diseases in students.
