New branches of central hospitals inaugurated in Ha Nam
The two hospitals are among five new modern hospitals to be built under a prime minister-approved project aiming at easing the burden on major hospitals in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Two new branches of Vietnam-Germany Friendship and Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi, which are two leading medical establishments in the country, were inaugurated in Phu Ly town of northern Ha Nam province on October 21.
The new branch of Bach Mai Hospital is a general hospital with 1,000 beds on an area of 123,000 square meters and capable of providing treatment for serious cardiovascular, cancer and respiratory diseases.
Meanwhile, built at an investment of over VND4 trillion (US$235 million) on an area of 125,000 square meters, the new facility of Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital is designed to be a surgical center with 1,000 beds, and capable of providing treatment for injuries of bone, skull, brain, head, neck, chest, spine, cardiovascular surgery.
Designed by foreign units, these two modern hospitals are built on a patient-friendly approach that creates comfort and positive impact on the patient's recovery time.
Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien said that the two new facilities will help ease the current overload at the Vietnam-Germany Friendship and Bach Mai Hospitals, and improve medical care for patients in the region.
The goal is to build new hospitals in the direction of modern and high technology, on par with advanced countries in the region. New hospitals provide high-quality medical services, technology transfer and human resource training, Tien added.
The Ministry of Health continues to accelerate the completion of the whole project to provide medical services for people, Tien stressed.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said the two hospitals are among five new modern hospitals to be built under a prime minister-approved projects aiming at easing the burden on major hospitals in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, adding that these projects have received great favor from the Vietnamese government.
