The Ministry of Education and Training in collaboration with the Korea Foundation granted 305 scholarships during a ceremony in Hanoi on December 18.
Recipients of the scholarships, funded by the Republic of Korea’s Samsung Electronics, were 180 students from 20 universities and 125 pupils from Ha Giang, Ha Tinh, Ninh Binh, Nghe An and Quang Binh provinces.

In 1995, through the Korea Foundation, Samsung donated US$1 million to establish a fund to encourage Vietnam-Korea academic exchanges.

The KF has given out 2,646 KF-Samsung scholarships to disadvantaged students across Vietnam over the past 17 years.
