Microsoft to assist Hanoi to build e-government

Implementing the commitments to support Vietnam in information technology, Microsoft will support the Hanoi People`s Committee to modernize and build a comprehensive information technology system to bring practical benefits to the country.
Hanoi People's Committee and Microsoft signed a strategic cooperation agreement on March 14 to promote the development, delivery and deployment of comprehensive information technology (IT) solutions.
The cooperation signing between the city and Microsoft clearly shows a commitment of the Hanoi authorities to build the city's IT development plan for the 2016-2020 period.

Attending the signing ceremony were Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Ngo Van Quy, Director of the municipal Department of Information and Communication Phan Lan Tu, General Director of Microsoft Vietnam Vu Minh Tri and Head of Public Safety and National Security, Microsoft Asia, Arthur Thomas Ball.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Ngo Van Quy said that the cooperation between Hanoi and Microsoft will create the best conditions for the city to promote the IT application, build a smart city with the most advanced, modern and up-to-date technologies to best serve the local residents and businesses.
Under the agreement, the two sides will cooperate in the following areas:
First, Microsoft will be engaged in consulting and supporting information technology applications in order to build Hanoi's e-government, a smart city on intelligent urban areas - modern - safety, train IT manpower and update the latest technologies for the city's leaders.
In addition, Microsoft will support the development of the IT industry, promote start-ups through organizing innovative contests, providing free software tools and cloud infrastructure to IT start-ups individuals and organizations through BizSpark program (digital space support).
In the field of information security, Microsoft Vietnam will introduce the Microsoft's Cyber ​​Security and share its deployment experience with Hanoi. At the same time, Microsoft Vietnam will also assist Hanoi city in building its central monitoring and management center.
At the ceremony, General Director of Microsoft Vietnam Vu Minh Tri shared that with extensive experience in building and deploying IT solutions, Microsoft has been continuously guest and honorary technology consultant for many governments.
The bilateral cooperation between Hanoi city and Microsoft is an important step to help the city improving its competitiveness and deeply integrating into the international economy thanks to the efficient use of technology, Tri noted.
With the best experience, Microsoft will surely support and co-operate with the Hanoi People's Committee to provide optimal and differentiated services to the local citizens, General Director Tri stressed.
Under the cooperation agreement, Microsoft also pledges to support Hanoi in the field of education and training, especially in coordinating with the municipal Department of Education and Training to organize creative teachers' contests in schools and universities in the city to improve IT teaching capacity.
