Make in Vietnam Awards 2023 recognize 43 outstanding digital products

Vietnam is home to more than 1,400 digital technology companies with a combined revenue that is approaching the $10 billion mark.

The Make in Vietnam Digital Technology Product Awards 2023 recognized 43 exceptional innovations during the announcement and award ceremony on December 11 in Halong City, located in the northern Quang Ninh Province.

The 2023 awards featured five categories: Digital Government, Digital Economy, Digital Society, Foreign Market, and Potential Products.

During the event, 50 digital solutions were recognized for their exceptional contributions, symbolizing technological products that have notably influenced the digital landscape and the operations of individuals and businesses.

This event was integrated into the 5th National Forum on Digital Business Development in Vietnam, centering around the theme "Applying Digital Innovation for Digital Economic Development - A Driving Force for Economic Growth and Labor Productivity."

Speaking at the forum, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha said the forum provided an opportunity for digital businesses to demonstrate their leadership in innovation and technology, which are seen as key factors for development.

He added that businesses should seize this opportunity to bring about significant changes and create distinctive products for Vietnam. "The Vietnamese Government recognizes that digital science and technology are new resources to increase labor productivity and drive economic growth," the Deputy Prime Minister said.

Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, who attended the event, stated that the forum provided an opportunity to review and evaluate the development of the Make in Vietnam movement and acknowledge exemplary achievements through the Make in Vietnam Awards.
"These products, designed, created, and made in Vietnam, have a significant impact on individuals, businesses, and the government in the digital environment, contributing to the development of digital government and society," he emphasized.
He stressed the critical role of digital applications in product innovation, urging telecommunication networks and digital technology enterprises to consider them as research and development targets.
The minister urged Vietnamese digital technology businesses to explore various sectors and fields, creating digital applications that facilitate digital transformation and advance the digital economy across industries.
"Vietnamese digital technology businesses now have a new mission, which is to industrialize and modernize the country by creating digital applications and accelerating digital transformation," he asserted.
Looking back over the past four years, Hung pointed out encouraging progress in Vietnam's digital technology industry. He cited statistics showing a 30% increase in the number of digital technology companies, a 32% increase in revenue, and a rise in the proportion of "Made in Vietnam" products from 21% to 29%.
There are more than 1,400 digital technology companies in Vietnam, with revenues approaching the $10 billion mark.
