Local and European artists to get together for jazz concert

Artists from Italy, Poland and Germany and Vietnam will join forces to stage a jazz concert to mark European Days at the HCMC Opera House at 8 pm on May 11.
The program will feature performances by jazz artist Michael Schiefel from Germany, guitarist Gabriel Niedziela from Poland, German cellist Jörg Brinkmann, Vietnamese saxophonist Nguyen Bao Long, pianist Nguyen Huu Vuong of Vietnam’s JumpforJazz band, and Italian drummer Davide Pasqualini.
Singer Michael Schiefel has been known at concerts and music festivals around the world where he has contributed his experiments with electronic loop devices mingled with colorful vocal sounds. 
Apart from some solo performances, Schiefel has cooperated with instrumentalists in different genres of music ranging from funk to pop, modern jazz and jazz Balkan.
Local saxophonist Nguyen Bao Long has had 20 years playing music in Hanoi. He is a music teacher and organizer/entertainer of jazz events. In 2013 he established JumpforJazz band to bring jazz music to young artists.

Davide Pasqualini, born in 1978, is a drummer/percussionist. Besides standard drums, he owns a collection of African and Latin American instruments like Djembé drum of western Africa, Caxixi instrument of Brazil and Udu drum of Nigeria.
Gabriel Niedziela, born in 1987, graduated from Karol jazz institute Karol in Katowice, Poland in 2011. He is known as an active artist and prestigious organizer of some music projects. 
He has performed at large festivals in Poland, Austria, Slovakia and Georgia.
Jörg Brinkmann, born in 1976, is a leading cellist in the world. He is able to use cello as a bass or even a guitar and many other electronic devices.
Nguyen Huu Vuong is an alumnus of the Vietnam National Academy of Music. Before joining JumpforJazz band, he was a member of local popular rockband Ngu Cung. 
He has performed at many events like Rockstorm and Khong Gian Am Nhac (music space). Vuong is an instrumentalist of Thang Long Music Company.
