Le Diep Kieu Trang steps down as CEO of Facebook Vietnam
Le Diep Kieu Trang intends to spend more time with her family as she explore and figure out what her next venture will be.
Le Diep Kieu Trang, known as Christy Le, CEO of Facebook Vietnam, has suddenly announced that she will no longer work for the largest social network in the world from January 1, 2019.

Trang, 38, has been in charge of the social network’s business development for the country from the office in Singapore since March 2018. Trang’s appointment to Facebook surprised many in the Vietnam’s startup community as it was expected that she would set up a new startup.
After her appointment, Trang told Tuoi Tre Online that she wanted to experience an extremely challenging position on Facebook with the mission of developing the business of social networking that empires in Vietnam.
“I truly believe in the mission of the company – which is about giving people the power to build community and to bring the world closer together. Facebook has brought so many businesses and communities so much closer together and I cannot wait to see many other businesses grow and thrive on the platform,” Trang shared.
She added: “I won’t be going anywhere far in the next few months. I intend to spend more time with my family as I explore and figure out what my next venture will be. Thank you to Facebook, and my Facebook family, for the adventure and opportunity.”
Le Diep Kieu Trang has been recognized by the local community as "golden girl" with a remarkable academic record when she took the top honors from Le Hong Phong High School in Ho Chi Minh City.
Trang won scholarships to study at Oxford University in England and then Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US. After that, she worked for global management consulting firm McKinsey in the US before joining Fossil.
