Sungha Jung will return to Vietnam to perform after five years. He will perform Hoang Thuy Linh's hit See Tinh.

Korean guitar prodigy Sungha Jung will perform in Hanoi on July 14 as part of the tour of the Sungha Jung Live in Vietnam 2023.

Sungha Jung's concert will be held at Vietnam Youth Theater in the capital city, in VOH Music One Opera House in Ho Chi Minh City on July 15, and at Nguyen Hien Dinh Theater in the central city of Danang on July 16.

The talented guitarist will cover Vietnamese singer Hoang Thuy Linh's hit song See tinh, which has gone viral in Asia.

Sungha Jung began playing the guitar at 10, inspired by his father. After being taught the basics by him, Jung continued to hone his talent by trying to play anything he heard or by watching videos online. Known as a Korean guitar prodigy, he quickly rose to fame. Sungha Jung's YouTube channel has 7.1 million subscribers.

Jung’s cover of The Pirates of the Caribbean theme song, which has amassed over 64 million views on YouTube, made him an Internet sensation when he was just 12 years old.

A prolific composer, Sungha Jung released his ninth solo album, Poetry, in August 2022. His renditions of songs such as Felicity, River Flows In You, Irony, On A Brisk Day, Flaming, The Phantom of the Opera and Haru Haru have won over audiences and fascinated guitar enthusiasts alike.

Sungha Jung has been invited to collaborate with many famous artists in Korea and around the world, such as 2NE1, G-Dragon, Jason Mraz, Tommy Emmanuel, Kotaro Oshio, Andy McKee and Trace Bundy, and has held concerts in France, the US, Australia, Denmark, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and China.

Sungha Jung is best known to Vietnamese audiences for his music on YouTube. He is also the first foreign fingerstyle guitarist to tour Vietnam.

According to Do Duong Tung, chairman of the Vietnam Fingerstyle Guitar Organization (VNFS), the fingerstyle guitar is a new and unique type of guitar that originated in the US and has become popular in Vietnam in recent years. With a one-man band playing, only one person with a single guitar can bring out the sound of an entire band.

"Fingerstyle guitar is a complete breakthrough in technique, so one guitar can convey many different styles and genres of music. Therefore, fingerstyle guitar is creativity at its highest level. Players are free to create completely new techniques and hand positions to express their nuances," says Tung.

This is the sixth year Wind Strings Music Company cooperates with the Tuoi Tre Theater and the Vietnam Fingerstyle Guitar Organization.

"We have tried to organize performances by international artists to promote the development of fingerstyle guitars in our country. We hope to attract more Vietnamese audiences to this new line of guitars, as well as to bring art closer to the public, contribute to the development of a healthy cultural environment in the community, and provide society with a high-quality, tangible art entertainment option," said Tung.
