“Kong: Skull Island” shooting in Ninh Binh begins

The film staff of the Hollywood movie "Kong: Skull Island ” shot its first scenes in the northern province of Ninh Binh on February 27.
They will shoot scenes in the world cultural and natural heritage site Trang An Complex and Tam Coc- Bich Dong caves in Hoa Lu district, and Van Long ecological tourism area in Gia Vien district. 

On March 15, the movie screw is scheduled to leave Ninh Binh for Ha Long Bay, the Natural World Heritage in Quang Ninh province, to prepare for other shots.

Earlier, central Quang Binh province provided places for the filming of the movie. 

“Kong: Skull Island ” is an upcoming American monster film produced by Legendary Pictures and directed by Jordan Vogt Robert. 

The movie is the story about a group of explorers who go into the jungle to discover the birthplace of the lord of giant apes.

Gregg Brillant, a film crew member, said “Kong: Skull Island ” will commence a series of legendary monsters movies, including Godzilla (to be screened in 2018) and Godzilla vs Kong (to stomp through theatres in 2020).

Vietnam is one of the three destinations selected for filming, in addition to Hawaii and Australia, due to its wild and marvelous natural scenes.

The movie stars include Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Toby Kebbell, John Ortiz, Corey Hawkins, John C.Reilly, Tom Wilkison, Thomas Mann, John Goodman, and Samuel L.Jackson. 

The blockbuster movie is due to hit cinemas on March 10, 2017.
