According to Mr. Jordan Vogt-Roberts – director of Kong: Skull Island, the program aims to pay tribute to Vietnamese people and the country that made contribution to the success of the movie “Kong: Skull Island”. It also helps students who have a passion for the filmmaking industry to nurture and carry out their dreams.
As planned, the program will be launched in the beginning of 2018 to provide scholarships to selected students, including one female learner, attending international schools to study their favorite subjects, such as movie, photography, playwriting, advertising, performing, historical art, dancing, graphic design, fashion design, game design and more.
On May 8, the Hollywood film director shared his experiences on  management of large-scale film projects, teamwork skill with 400 students of the United Nation International School and Australian Film University in a talk in Hanoi. The event is one of the activities supporting Vietnamese young people in art education and film making; giving a deep knowledge of the world’s movie industry.
Seven days ago, director Jordan Vogt-Roberts returned to Ninh Binh Province to visit the locals featured in the native village in Kong Skull Island. After that, he arrived at Trang An and visited the film set which now has been rebuilt and turned into a tourist destination. Vogt-Roberts also met with the local extras that appeared as island natives in the film.
Mr. Jordan Vogt-Roberts expressed gratitude to the locals that helped to make the film a success. He went on to say that he was impressed that the location had been so carefully rebuilt. The destination also creates jobs to local people.
He was glad that the film could bring the images of Vietnam and Ninh Binh to international audiences. As a tourism ambassador, he hoped to do well in promoting tourism industry in Vietnam as well as Ninh Binh Province to the world so that more foreign films will be made in Vietnam.
