The “Ehon Week” introduces a variety of book-related activities such as exhibitions, presentations, and readings of Ehon picture books for children.

The book-related event, taking place on October 14-22, is organized by the Bac Cau or Bridge Foundation, the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, and the Japanese Business Association in Vietnam to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.

The "Ehon Week" book event will be held in Hanoi from October 14 to 22.

Highlights of the event include an exhibition of 100 Ehon picture books in Japanese original and Vietnamese translation on October 14 at the Japanese Embassy compound, 8 Van Phuc Street, Ba Dinh District.

The exhibition of Yasumasa Suzuki's Ehon Original Works will be held on October 14 at the Japan Cultural Exchange Center, featuring original illustrations of two Ehon picture books entitled "Cosette the Sparrow" and "Sadness of the Snail."

The exhibition is the artist's illustrative perspective through each story, breathing life into the picture book, making it more vivid and easier to understand, thanks to his talented drawings.

In addition, the organizing committee will give away 100 Ehon picture books to the participants of the "Connecting Book Fair", which will take place on October 20 at Du Parc Hanoi Hotel, 84 Tran Nhan Tong Street, Hoan Kiem District.

In addition, from October 14 to 19, a series of Ehon picture book reading activities will take place in preschools in Hanoi.

According to the event's organizing committee, Ehon Week is a meaningful event that aims to raise public awareness about the benefits of reading, especially among children.

"Building a reading generation requires a lot of time, effort, perseverance, and consensus from the society. Spending time reading among young children is extremely necessary," the event's press release stated.

The Bridge Foundation is a Japanese non-profit organization that works for Vietnamese children through books. Its reading projects help local children develop their thinking, skills, and creativity, contributing to the equal and comprehensive development of generations of Vietnamese children.
