By Anh Kiet 11:44, 2016/03/18
The Indian Directorate General of Anti-Dumping & Allied Duties (DGAD) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has imposed anti-dumping duties of US$1.87-2.77 per kilo on measuring tapes imported from Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

The Designated Authority received a written application in July 2015 from FMI Limited in Ludhiana, on behalf of the domestic measuring tape producers, alleging dumping of the subject goods from Chinese Taipei, Malaysia, Thailand & Vietnam.

Indian measuring tape producers asked the DGAD to conduct an anti-dumping investigation on measuring tapes coded HS 9017; 9017.80 and 9017.90 imported into the country in the period between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2015 and review the company’s losses from January 1, 2011 to March 31, 2015.

According to VCA, Vietnam and other countries are imposed quite high AD duties because not any producers from the subject countries responded to the questionnaires within the prescribed time limits.
