Implementing special mechanisms for Nhat Tan - Noi Bai urban development
Government`s regular meeting on June 30 discussed about a report on special mechanisms and policies for urban development along the Nhat Tan-Noi Bai Highway in Hanoi.
Discussing at the meeting, the cabinet members said that it is expected to complete basic infrastructures and development projects of modern Nhat Tan - Noi Bai urban area by 2025.
The cabinet agreed that special policies and mechanisms to select investors, finance, land and clearance are needed to implement the project.
"The urban development along the Nhat Tan-Noi Bai Highway is very important to create the separate difference for Hanoi. I agree with an urgent need to complete special policies and mechanisms to accelerate infrastructure development of Nhat Tan-Noi Bai urban area," said Minister of Construction Trinh Dinh Dung.
According to a report by the Hanoi People's Committee, the Nhat Tan-Noi Bai urban development project would need an investment of around 33 trillion VND, of which infrastructure development alone would cost 22 trillion VND and land site clearance 10.8 trillion VND.
Concluding at the meeting, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said the special mechanisms must allow the area to be developed based on its economic potential without relying on the State Budget.
The Nhat Tan-Noi Bai highway would play an important role in the capital city's socio-economic development as it connects downtown Hanoi with Noi Bai International Airport.
The PM also discussed numerous other issues raised by the Government agencies and ministries regarding the Nhat Tan-Noi Bai urban area, including site clearance, social housing projects and the process to select investors and determine land value.
PM Dung assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment to compile recommendations in a report for his reviewing later.
