Bac Giang province, the biggest epicenter in Vietnam, confirmed 375 new infections, prompting an urgent meeting chaired by Minister of Health Pham Thanh Long on May 25.

The newest cases are workers of industrial parks (IPs) who are under quarantine.
The detection of newly-infected people is the result of massive testing in IPs, factories, and lodging facilities.
Long asked the ministry’s task force in Bac Giang to “freeze” all workers’ residential areas, mostly multistory buildings, imposing quarantine rules there without letting anyone out.
Bac Giang has temporarily closed 340 factories and isolates approximately 140,000 workers and thousands of experts.
Four IPs, including Dinh Tram, Quang Chau, Van Trung, and Song Khe-Noi Hoang have been suspended with more than 60,000 workers under quarantine.
As of late Monday [May 24], Bac Giang reported 1,024 infections.
