“Homeland Spring” programme to fascinate OVs

The annual “Xuan Que Huong” (Homeland Spring) programme this year will be organised in Ho Chi Minh City on February 7-8 with various traditional cultural activities for overseas Vietnamese who are to enjoy the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival in Vietnam.
During the event, President Truong Tan Sang will join the OVs to offer incense to Hung Kings at the National Cultural and Historical Park, and to President Ho Chi Minh at Nha Rong Wharf, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs revealed on January 30. 
The OVs are scheduled to visit the Cu Chi tunnel historical site and pay tribute to heroic martyrs at Ben Duoc temple. 
The highlight of the event, which to be hosted by Ho Chi Minh City for the first time, is a televised art performance on the night of February 8 at Nha Rong Wharf , during which President Truong Tan Sang will extend New Year wishes to OVs.

According to Deputy Foreign Minister and the committee’s head Vu Hong Nam, this year, the number of OVs enjoying Tet in Vietnam surge in comparison to previous years, showing their trust in Party and State’s national solidarity policies.
On the occasion, the committee and the Hanoi People’s Committee will also organise a number of festive activities for OVs from February 9-11.
There are approximately 4.5 million Vietnamese living and working in 103 countries and territories. They form an indispensable part of the nation and play an important role in intensifying cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and the rest of the world.
