Holding 30 art performances to mark Hanoi Liberation Day
Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports will organise some 30 art performances across the city to celebrate 61st anniversary of the capital’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954).
Art troupes from the city and vicinities are expected to bring an exciting atmosphere for the city’s audiences through music and circus performances, including folk singing such as “cheo” (traditional opera), “tuong” (classical drama), “cai luong” (reformed theatre), and “quan ho” (love duet).
The art programmes aim to praise the Party and the late President Ho Chi Minh as well as the love for the thousand-year-old capital city.
On October 10, 1954, Hanoians with flags and flowers in hand gathered to streets of the city to welcome Vietnamese soldiers who had just returned to the capital after the victory over the French troops at the Dien Bien Phu battle field.
