The information was made during an inspection by Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to the site on August 14.

Accordingly, Phuc commended the Mausoleum Management Board for the outstanding completion of the maintenance work, ensuring the original quality of the construction. He stressed the sacred meaning of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum as well as that of preserving the embalmed body of revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh as 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of his testament.

The Management Board was asked to join other relevant agencies and Hanoi City to ensure absolute security of the Mausoleum compound and to promote cooperation with domestic and foreign scientific institutions in research and application of science and technology to guarantee long-term preservation of Ho Chi Minh's embalmed body.

The Mausoleum received 1.2 million visitors in the first six months of 2019. In some significant occasions of the year including the Liberation Day (April 30), the Labor Day (May 1) and Uncle Ho’s birthday (May 19), the Management Board gave 42,500 meals including bottles of water and loaves of bread for Vietnamese and foreign visitors to the site free of charge.

The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum was built in 1973, four years after the president passed away. His embalmed body has been preserved in the central chamber of building, and strictly protected by military honor guards.

During the latest examination on President Ho Chi Minh’s embalmed body in the middle of July, a group of scientists, including four Russian experts and seven Vietnamese concluded that it was in "excellent condition."
