Historical science helps Vietnam opening door to the mankind's culture
"History is a foundation of patriotism tradition and a fulcrum for confidence of national strength, historical science also help the country opening the door to the mankind`s culture and civilization", President Truong Tan Sang emphasized at the 7th Vietnam Association of Historical Sciences Congress held in Hanoi on November 30.

Speaking at the congress, the President spoke highly of the contribution made by the association through its members' study and research which had been considered as precious proof to affirm the national sovereignty of the East Sea, particularly in the Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos.
Praising the efforts and contributions of the the association, President Sang proposed five its key tasks in the coming time.
The President urged the association to mobilise all capacity to complete the National Annals of History as soon as possible.
The association was asked to encourage all of its member historical scientists to work as direct consultants on the national education reform by improving the role of history in universal education curriculum.
The association also should promote activities to help provinces nationwide improving the quality of historical research and education.
President Truong Tan Sang required the Vietnam Association of Historical Sciences to implement positive activities in order to raise the people's understanding and love, especially the young generation for the national history.
Addressing at the event, Professor Phan Huy Le, Chairman of the 6th Vietnam Association of Historical Sciences said, in the 2010-2015 period, the association has gained proud achievements in various fields.
During the congress, the delegates elected Professor Phan Huy Le as Chairman of the 7th Vietnam Association of Historical Sciences and 7 vice presidents for 2015-2020 term.
