The production fields of hi-tech co-operatives consist of safe vegetables and fruit, seeds, animal breeding, aquaculture, as well as agricultural product processing and preserving.

About two thirds of Vietnam’s 63 provinces and cities have established high-tech co-operatives in production. The most tech-savvy regions are the Central Highlands (57 co-operatives) and the Mekong Delta (35), followed by the south eastern region (28), the Red River Delta (28), the Northern Midlands and Mountains (22), and the North Central region (18). Meanwhile, the South Central Coast only has 5 such co-operatives. The provinces with the highest application of high-technology are Lam Dong (36 co-operatives), Long An (14), Hanoi (13), and Ho Chi Minh City (11).

The agricultural sector in Hanoi capital will strive to grow by 2-2.5% in 2018. The city has a robust initiative and has deployed 89 agricultural models applying high-technology in production, processing, and preservation. The city also maintains 65 linkages in the value chain, contributing to the sustainability of agricultural production. At the moment, high-tech agricultural products account for 25% of the total value of agricultural products.

As natural disasters increase in frequency and complexity, it is encouraging that the capital’s agricultural sector continues to grow. Accordingly, the city set the key task of reviewing and adjusting the planning of agricultural development in 2018 to ensure synergies with the application of high-technology, organic agriculture, and clean agriculture.

Hanoi also asked the departments and localities to promote joining their agricultural supply and demand lines with Hanoi, modernize production, and encourage agricultural development in association with environmental protection.
