Five Vietnamese and foreign photographers introduced photo collections on Hanoi’s alleys and a photography book entitled “Hanoi-Lost and Found” at the Goethe Institute in Hanoi on April 15.
The book published by Things Asian Press unmasks the joy and sadness of Hanoi city dwellers that most visitors wouldn’t ordinarily notice which can be found in each small alley and corner of the streets, revealing the subtle charm only known to city residents.
Five young photographers – Nguyen The Son, Elizabeth Rush, Matthew Dakin, Aaron Joel Santos and Maika Elan – illustrate the everyday life of Hanoians and the distinctive architecture of Hanoi, street dishes, and busy urban transport for which the city is known.
Almuth Meyer-Zollitsch, Goethe Institute Director, said the images are recorded through the eyes of the five photographers that the curious will find interesting.
