Forces such as the military, police, health care, agriculture and local people are urgently doing environmental sanitation, spraying Clorimin B, disinfectants for livestock and poultry to prevent diseases and stabilize daily life.

According to Hanoi’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, up to now, 4,225 hectares of rice were flooded; over 519 hectares of crops were severely destroyed and over 270 hectares were partially crushed; over 883 hectares of aquatic products and 326.7 hectares of perennial trees were flooded; about 10.2 km of roads are affected. In addition, 4,655 households were flooded and 22,359 people were affected by floods.

Chuong My is the most hard-hit district with 1,380 ha of rice submerged, 307 ha of crops flooded, 3,683 houses were attacted by water, 10,205m of rural roads were also flooded.

Talking about solutions to respond to flood in the coming time, Vice Chairman of Chuong My District People's Committee Hoang Minh Hien said that most of the district is located in the low-lying area, severely affected by the flood from Hoa Binh province, but there have been no radical solutions for many years.

In order to stabilize daily life and production of the residents, the district proposes to the People's Committee of Hanoi to handle the entire Bui dike with prestressed concrete piles to ensure effectiveness. From now to 2019, construction of some critical sections of the Bui dyke will be piloted with a length of about 1,500 m.
