Hanoians enjoy the fantastic performance from Russian dancers

The world-renowned Russian Beryozka Choreographic Ensemble delivered beautiful performances on the stage of Hanoi Opera House on the evening of October 5 to mark the opening of the 2017 Russian Cultural Days in Vietnam.

The event opened with a round dance titled "Chain", which earned storms of applause from the audiences. During the dance, Russian dancers dressed in beautiful long red dresses and danced like dolls in graceful and perfect movements.
The ensemble’s repertoire continued to bring much joy and admiration to Vietnamese audiences through group dances, comic dances, and quadrilles. Accompanied by Russian folk songs and popular melodies, the dances allowed its audiences to better understand the soul, culture, life, and culture of Russia. “The performances reminded me a lot of those days when I studied in Russia many years ago,” said Trinh Thi Thuy, an audience to the programme. The dances are brilliantly beautiful and I am sure that all audience tonight are very impressed, she said.
The Russian Cultural Days in Vietnam have been held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from October 5 to 10 by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in conjunction with the Russian Ministry of Culture, the Russian Embassy in Vietnam and the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Hanoi.
Speaking at the ceremony, Russia's State Secretary, Deputy Culture Minister Alexander Zhuravsky said that with a range of activities, the 2017 Russian Cultural Days in Vietnam are expected to draw much interest from Vietnamese audiences whilst paving the way for further cultural co-operation between the two countries.
For her part, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy noted with pleasure that over 67 years since the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic ties, Vietnam and Russia have witnessed a growing development in cooperation concerning all fields of politics, economics, and culture
She expressed her belief that the Russian Cultural Days in Vietnam will significantly contribute to promoting cultural cooperation between the two countries as well as the development of the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership.
Following the event in Hanoi, the ensemble is scheduled to perform at 8 pm on October 10 at the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi. Regarded as a trademark of the Russian culture, the Beryozka troupe was founded in 1948 by the famous ballet dancer of the 20th century Nadezhda Nadeshdina. Since its establishment, the ensemble has toured to over 80 countries around the world, including Japan, France, the Republic of Korea, China, Italy, Egypt and the US.
It was awarded the Joliot-Curie Gold Medal by the World Peace Council in 1959.
