Hanoi welcomes 270,000 visitors during National Day holiday
The number of arrivals to Hanoi during the National Day holiday this year was higher than that of last year despite fewer days off.
Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, received 270,000 guests during the National Day holiday from August 31 to September 2, up 8.6% year-on-year, according to the municipal Department of Tourism, the Government Portal reported.
The number of arrivals to Hanoi during the National Day holiday this year was higher than that of last year despite fewer days off.
Particularly, foreign visitors to the city reached 37,000 between August 31 and September 2, up 3.2% against the same period of 2018, of which the number of stay-over visitors was 26,000. Domestic arrivals also increased by an inter-annual rate of 9.5% to 233,000.
Total revenue collected from tourism during the holiday reached VND328 billion (US$14.2 million), up 22% year-on-year.
Thanks to the increasing number of arrivals to Hanoi during the National Day holiday, accommodation service in the city helped increase the occupancy rate to 64% for those 5 star hotels and 68% for 3-5 star hotel.
During the three-day break, the department conducted inspections at some city’s attractions to ensure safety for tourists such as Temple of Literature, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Vietnam Military History Museum, Ngoc Son Temple, Thang Long Water Puppet Theater, the Old Quarter, Hanoi Opera House as well as other places of interest located in some peripheral districts of Ba Vi, and Thach That, among others.
