Hanoi to open "European Music Festival 2015" on November 18
An European Music Festival, which will be organised in Hanoi and HCM City from November 18-29, is expected to bring to the Vietnamese audiences with concerts performed by famous artists from eight EU member countries and Vietnamese young band Hac San.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the European Union (EU) Delegation in Vietnam held a press conference in Hanoi on November 10 to announce the "European Music Festival 2015" in Vietnam.
The festival is as part of activities to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the EU-Vietnam diplomatic relations (November 22).
Through the 14th organization, the "European Music Festival 2015" will introduce to Vietnamese audiences with concerts featuring famous artists from eight EU member countries: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Sweden and Vietnamese young band Hac San.
Especially, it will include performances of Polish violin virtuoso Proniewicz Voytek and guitar duet Ferenc Snetberger from Hungrary.
Speaking at the press conference, Ambassador and Head of the EU Delegation to Vietnam Bruno Angelet said with 19 concerts, the festival is expected to make a chance for Vietnamese audiences to experience diverse music genres, from jazz to classical music, contemporary music and the vibrant rock rhythms blended with Vietnam's traditional music.
According to Ambassador Bruno Angelet, such events as the festival have contributed to strengthening the relationship and mutual understanding between the EU and Vienam.
Cultural exchange and community diplomacy is an important part of efforts to boost connectivity between EU and Vietnamese people in all fields, he added.
The European Music Festival 2015 will be kicked off in both Hanoi and HCM City on November 18. The performance of the festival in Hanoi will feature the Brandt Brauer Frick band of Germany and Sweden's Big Band Tolvan band will particate in the concert in HCM City.
The European Music Festival 2014 attracted more than 6,300 spectators.
