Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh stressed the view during the city’s monthly meeting held today [June 2].
According to Anh, Hanoi’s economy during the first five months of 2022 has been firm on the recovery track and is progressing towards realizing the growth targets.
Anh also highlighted the high disbursement rate of public funds in a number of districts, especially four with the rate of 100% including Tay Ho, Bac Tu Liem, Ung Hoa, and Phu Xuyen, saying this has significantly contributed to the overall performance of the city.
The mayor, however, noted the city’s disbursement rate remained modest at 16.4% for the five-month period, lower than the national average of 20.45%.
Meanwhile, the consumer price index (CPI) rising by 3.79% year-on-year is posing downside risks to socio-economic development goals, he added.

For the remainder of the year, Anh called for local authorities to focus on realizing the resolution No.15 of the Politburo on Hanoi’s development objectives until 2030, with a vision to 2045, and resolution No.06 on sustainable urban development in Vietnam until 2030.
“Every district, ward, and commune should take the utmost advantage of the subdued pandemic situation to focus on socio-economic development,” Anh stressed.
He called for priority to be given to economic fields of high potential, such as services, tourism, industry, construction, and trade.
“Measures should be put in place to address difficulties in the implementation of ODA projects to aid economic growth,” he said.
