Hanoi to become a national start-up business and creative centre
Hanoi city needs to be a proactive locality, becoming a start-up business and creative center of the country, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc stressed at the conference "Hanoi 2016 Investment and Development Cooperation" held in Hanoi on June 4.
Hanoi People's Committee organised the "Hanoi 2016 Investment and Development Cooperation" conference at Lotte Hotel, 54 Lieu Giai street, Ba Dinh district, on June 4.
Attending the event were Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Hanoi Party Secretary Hoang Trung Hai, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, and the representatives of the provinces and cities nationwide, representatives of media agencies, domestic and international press.
The conference was also attended by at least 500 domestic and foreign investors interested in business opportunities in the capital of Hanoi.
At the event, the municipal People’s Committee and businessmen discussed and devised measures for improving the local investment climate and methods for attracting investments and development cooperation with companies.
The conference makes a chance for the city’s authorities to reiterate their commitment to creating a transparent and favourable environment for all enterprises.
Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highlighted that Hanoi is the capital, heart of the country, a political and national administrative headquarter, and the national center of science, education, health, economy, finance, and international trade.
Hanoi owns all potentials and development opportunities to become a green, cultural, civilized and modern capital.
The Government also said that Hanoi is the first locality in the country organising such a large business conference with the participation of the municipal leaders, ministries, associations, businesses, domestic and foreign investors.
The conference focused on the five key meaningful contents, including the meeting with businesses and receiving recommendations, calling for investment, signing the MOU and honouring outstandding businesses.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said: "We have also seen the determination of Hanoi's authorities who have considered the enterprise development as the top prioritied task. I believe that this is a good start to a new phase, Hanoi will have a quick and right turnaround, being worthy of the confidence of the business community".
The Prime Minister suggested that Hanoi city needs to play an proactive role, becoming a start-up business and creative center of the country.
According to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the city must make some initiatives to encourage and support the start-up business model and new innovative enterprises for their rapid developments in Hanoi.
In the e-government builing, Hanoi should maximumly apply the information technology to serve businesses and citizens in the implementation of administrative procedures and information management system, Phuc added.
He also said that Hanoi should develop the linkage in the region to expand the development space and take full of its available advantages.
Addressing the conference, Hanoi Party Secretary Hoang Trung Hai affirmed the city's commitments to strongly improve the investment environment, promote the reform of administrative procedures in order to create an important impetus, thus boosting investment resources for development and realize the opportunities from international integration.
The Hanoi Party Secretary vowed that Hanoi’s authorities will create a transparent and favourable environment for all enterprises, improve the business environment and enhance national competitiveness.

The Chairman highlighted the advantages of Hanoi, measures to improve the investment climate in order to create motivation in promoting and attracting investment resources for development.
The Chairman also presented a list of projects calling for investment into the city in the period 2016-2020, including 52 investment projects in the form of public-private partnership (PPP).
