The project has a total investment of over 152 billion VND and is expected to be completed and put into use in the second quarter, 2016.
The project will tap surface water from the Hong (Red) River for the plant, which is currently exploiting underground water for supply.
Upon completion, the plant’s capacity will increase to 50,000 cu.m per day, supplying additional 30,000 cu.m per day for the city.
It realises the roadmap for reducing the exploitation of underground water.
The city plans to build a plant with a capacity of 300,000 cu.m per day using surface water from the Red River in Dan Phuong district later this year.
