Coronavirus-themed murals not only adorn a street in Hanoi but also showcase Hanoi people’s determination to defeat Covid-19 pandemic.

Facing the fourth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, which is considered the most serious ever in Vietnam, Hanoians have taken comfort in the art. The old mossy wall on Vu Trong Khanh Street in Ha Dong District, Hanoi ‘dresses up new clothes’ with a mural-painting wall on the theme of Covid-19 prevention and control.

Located in a 40-meter-long street, the mural features 10 large-scale pictures, which have brought some light into a dim time.

This is an initiative of Ha Dong District’s Youth Union to urge Hanoians to well comply with measures to prevent and control Covid-19 pandemic.

The murals showcase the Hanoians' determination to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic with the messages of: “United, we fight against the Covid-19 pandemic”, “For a world without Covid”, “Preventing, detecting, isolating, zoning to stamp out the Covid-19 pandemic”.

The eye-catching colorful murals encourage people to well comply with messages of the Ministry of Health, including Khau trang (facemask)- Khu khuan (disinfection)- Khoang cach (distance)- Khong tu tap (no gathering) – Khai bao y te (health declaration).
Children take a photo with the mural to express gratitude to health workers- the ‘white-coated soldiers’ who are on the front lines of the fight against Covid-19.
The murals have received positive feedback from people living nearby. They also draw the attention of passersby.

The mural-painting wall was conceived, implemented, and completed within one week by Ha Dong District’s Youth Union. According to the district’s authority, more similar murals will be painted in the area in the coming time.
