Permanent Deputy Chief of the Hanoi Office of New Rural Construction Program Coordination Nguyen Van Chi gave his expectation, adding that the city’s OCOP program has attracted a number of local enterprises, cooperatives and business households in recent years. It has also contributed to creating over 5,000 new jobs for rural workers.

The city currently has 1,500 OCOP products rated three stars or higher, including four products with the highest rating of five stars. He added that some 17 potential candidate products for the five-star rating are pending evaluation by the National Council of OCOP.

The city requested authorities of districts and towns to encourage businesses in the fields of industry, handicrafts, and community-based agritourism to join the OCOP program.

In the whole country, more than 7,000 OCOP products have been rated with OCOP three star or more so far. The national OCOP program has to date had more than 4,000 participants.
