At the meeting, the Hanoi leader praised the strength and development of Ile-de-France, which is one of the four most influential urban areas in the world, along with London (the UK), New York (the US), and Tokyo (Japan).

He stressed that the meeting between the two sides would contribute to further strengthening the friendly relationship between Hanoi and the Ile-de-France region in the context of the two parties commemorating the 30th anniversary of the cooperation.
The Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee also emphasized the importance of implementing the Cooperation Agreement for the period of 2018-2021 signed in June 2018 between Hanoi and Ile-de-France. The agreement focused on creating a new foundation for building bilateral relationship, with a view to becoming a model of local-level cooperation between Vietnam and France.

Besides, the two localities will also give priority to economic development with Hanoi taking advantage of Ile-de-France’s experience and technologies to meet its development needs.
The French region will help Hanoi’s startups to work at Paris startup centers and help successful French businesses visit Hanoi and exchange experience as well as encourage the development of a startup community in Hanoi and Vietnam.

The Hanoi leader also visited worked with a number of French groups and businesses operating high-tech models in clean water supply, waste and sewage treatment.
