Hanoi steps up comprehensive measures to control Covid-19

Hanoi's authorities keep enforcing measures to help its people flexibly adapt to Covid-19 and effectively control the pandemic.

Hanoi will do everything possible to control the Covid-19 situation by enforcing a host of comprehensive measures in all districts, focusing on preventing its spread, said the document which has just been signed by Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Chu Xuan Dung.

In order to keep protecting and sustainably preserving the results of the pandemic prevention and control, Dung requested the people's committee of districts to take full responsibility for containing Covid-19 in the area.

Accordingly, all districts must be held accountable for covid-19 vaccination according to the instructions of the Vietnamese government, and should timely and effectively use the assigned doses of covid-19 vaccine.

In addition, Hanoi will delegate to district and town administrations powers over pandemic containment as the number of new infections in the capital city is on an upward trend.

Secretaries of Party Committees and chairpersons of people's committees of districts are tasked with reviewing and improving medical capacity at the grassroots level and making thorough preparations.

Authorities of the districts are also requested to continue improving the quality of pandemic prevention and control, applying technology in patient treatment and support, and strengthening the role of community Covid-19 prevention and control groups.

Dung asked local residents to remain vigilant without becoming overly concerned as the situation in the city is still under control.

The city has decided to raise its pandemic prevention and fighting efforts to a higher level, Dung said, calling on officials, Party members, military, and local people to stay united and uphold their determination and responsibility to control and fight Covid-19.

The Hanoi Health Department was requested to continue tightening pandemic prevention and control and ensure safety at hospitals and health clinics.

According to data from the department, although the number of Covid-19 patients in Hanoi is increasing, more than 95% of them have mild symptoms or are asymptomatic.

Over 99% of those aged from 12 in the city have received at least two doses of vaccine against Covid-19.
