Hanoi starts work on an international standard park

Hanoi People`s Committee and Sun Group on September 2 held a ground breaking ceremony of the Kim Quy cultural, tourism and amusement park (called Kim Quy Park Project) in Vinh Ngoc Commune, Hanoi’s suburban district of Dong Anh.

Attending the ceremony, there were Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Hanoi Party Secretary Hoang Trung Hai, Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, together with representatives of relevant agencies and people in Dong Anh District.

Addressing the event, the PM said the project is expected to become a highlight of the city’s tourism and an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists in the future, contributing to making tourism a spearhead sector of the city. 

He expressed his hope that the first phase of the project will complete in 18 months as scheduled, ensuring the quality to international standards. He also asked investors to support locals who had to move to give space for the project.

Coveing more than 100 hectares, the project has an initial investment of 4.6 trillion VND (209 million USD) by Sun Group. Designed by ITEC Group from the US, the Kim Quy Park is inspired by the story of the Co Loa spiral-shaped citadel (located in Dong Anh district of Hanoi now) which was built by King An Duong Vuong in the third century BC with the help of the Golden Turtle God. 

The majority of the park will be covered by trees and lakes, giving spaces for visitors to enjoy the nature. Together with modern games applying world cutting edge of technology, the park also comprises an art area and a Kim Quy cultural village to host large-scale art shows.

The project is part of Hanoi’s plan to build 25 new parks, 3-5 of which meeting the international and regional standards, and plant one million trees until 2030. Kim Quy Park Project features both traditional culture of Hanoi and the modern design of Universal Studios and Disneyland. 


Delivering his speech at th ceremory, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung stressed that Kim Quy Park Project achieves meaningful livelihoods, especially social meaning, located in the sequence of the program development system of parks, pools of the Capital's conditioning in the period of 2016-2020; helping to create a new urban area of the Red River, is the image of the Capital city in the future.

The City Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung said that the project will help farmers to access to other forms of entertainment and ensure the ecological environment for People around the area; create attractions for travelers to Hanoi, as well as meeting the needs of the people in the Capital; create more jobs and contribute to promoting tourism for the Capital's development.
