Hanoi Spring Book Street 2017 reachs a revenue of over 7 billion VND

Hanoi Spring Book Street 2017, which was held from January 30 to February 5 (or from Lunar January 3rd to 9th), gained the revenue of more than 7 billion VND from the sale of 250,000 books, according to the organising board.
Hanoi Department of Information and Communications organised a ceremony to close Hanoi Spring Book Street 2017 on February 5 (the ninth day of the first lunar month).
The book street, along Le Thach Street and at Ly Thai To Park, aimed to celebrate the 87th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - 2017).
The event also aims to promote reading culture among people of the capital city during the Lunar New Year (Tet) holidays.

The book street created a cultural space for people to read during Tet holidays, honoring the culture of reading and reading development movement, which aims to build a learning society, contributes to building an elegant and civilized capital.
At the street, readers will find numerous types of books, have opportunities to exchange with writers, and to be entertained by calligraphy arts.
The book street took place various cultural activities, including exhibiting, selling the books category; introduction of new publications, exchanging with writers; introducing the art of calligraphy, coloring and painting for children and traditional art performances.
Particularly, this year's book street also displayed the press agencies of Hanoi and a central issue. In addition, the organising board arranged a number of areas as spatial reading, resting, relaxing.
The revenue from book sale of this year's spring street reached over 7 billion VND with 250,000 books. The book companies with the highest revenue include Kim Dong Publishing House (over 1 billion VND); Alpha Book Joint Stock Company, and Book Issuance Corporation of HCM City, Hanoi Branch (Fahasa).
