Hanoi sets plan to fulfill socio-economic development and state budget in 2018

The Hanoi People’s Committee has recently issued Document No.34 on action program to perform tasks and missions on socio-economic development and state budget in 2018.
Under the Document, in order to realize plan on socio-economic development in 2018, Hanoi will implement Year of Improving Work Efficiency and Effectiveness of the Political System campaign, focusing on following key points:
Further increase the reform and restructuring of apparatus, enhance implementation of the laws, policies and leadership of agencies at all levels and sectors;

Build pilot project, build urban government model, consolidate the rural government, and report to the Central Government in 2018;
Build and gradually create conditions to develop smart city; encourage the establishment of enterprises;
Take drastic and comprehensive measures to enhance disbursement scale and rate of investment, especially public capital (including ODA);
Check and find out efficient measures to overcome the lack of public schools in the areas where urbanization rate is high; urge implementation of projects on building schools with investment of private sectors, and pay further attention to building national standard schools;
Preserve and promote cultural and historical values in the areas;
Further enhance the environment treatment, food safety; provide clean water; handle solid waste and medical waste; continue program on planting one million trees in Hanoi; put cables underground;
Ensure social welfares; implement plan on supporting construction and renovation of houses for the poor;
Increase political security, social order and safety; prevent crimes, and maintain operation of the Steering Committee 197;
Review outcome of targets given at the Party Congress of Hanoi, thus giving measures in instruction and operation to meet targets and assess 10 years of expanding administrative boundaries of Hanoi.
