Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front – Hanoi Chapter Nguyen Lan Huong shared such a view during a meeting with Birmingham's Lord Mayor Chaman Lal on October 10.
The meeting took place during the visit of Vietnam's delegation from Hanoi and Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh, Ha Nam Lam Dong, and Kien Giang provinces to Birmingham.
During the meeting, the Mayor of Birmingham highlighted the city's potential and strengths, the principle of mutual benefit, and the importance of collaboration in addressing global challenges, particularly non-traditional security threats.
At the "Connecting Vietnam - West Midlands" meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK and Northern Ireland Nguyen Hoang Long noted that, in his role as Ambassador, he had visited Birmingham five times over the past two years and that this event marked the first promotional event for Vietnam in Birmingham.
Bui Van Khanh, the representative of the Vietnamese delegation and Chairman of the Hoa Binh Provincial People's Committee, expressed his congratulations and gratitude to the leaders of Birmingham for their warm welcome and collaborative efforts in organizing the event.

The discussions concluded with the signing of several memoranda of understanding by the parties involved. This event held significant importance as it coincided with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United Kingdom, the 13th year of bilateral strategic partnership, and the 69th anniversary of Hanoi Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2023).
