The representative of Sichuan Department of Culture and Tourism Cui Hong said the province has established some new unique and thrilling destinations for travelers with the expectation of drawing more visitors from Hanoi and Vietnam.
A Hanoi delegation of 14 tour operators has conducted a research program in Sichuan, the Southwestern Chinese province, to realize the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and Sichuan Department of Culture and Tourism in Hanoi last month, Cong Thuong newspaper reported.

During the six days of the program, organized by CapTour Club, the delegation made a field study on some traditional destinations in their booking lists such as Jiuzhaigou Valley, Chengdu Panda Base, Chengdu and several new destinations that Sichuan is promoting and investing including Jiaju Tibetan Village, Tagong town and Xin Du Qiao hamlet, among others.

At the meeting with the representatives of Sichuan Department of Culture and Tourism, the Vietnamese tour enterprises raised some opinions on establishing and connecting the destinations as well as creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese arrivals to Sichuan.

Accordingly, Deputy Director of Treviet Pham Thanh Thuy suggested the Sichuan side adopt a more favorable visa policy for Vietnamese visitors to the province as it usually takes as long as one week for visa issuance while Vietnamese tourists to other Chinese provinces need only one or two days thanks to the group visa policy of those localities.

Director of APT Nguyen Hong Dai said new Sichuan destinations suit young travelers or people with good health, who prefer some kinds of escorted tours because those places are located at the heights of 2,000 meters to 4,000 meters above the sea level. Dai also pledged to promote those destinations in Vietnam for outbound tourism.

He also presented a number well-known tours to Vietnam North including Hanoi – Bai Dinh Pagoda – Trang An or Hanoi – Ha Long Bay to Sichuan’s Tourism Department.

For his part, the representative of Sichuan Department of Culture and Tourism Cui Hong said the province has established some new unique and thrilling destinations for travelers with the expectation of drawing more visitors from Hanoi and Vietnam.
