Hanoi ponders partial relaxation of social distancing orders after April 22
Anh Kiet - Tho Tien 14:57, 2020/04/21
As of April 20, Hanoi has not confirmed any new Covid-19 cases for six consecutive days.

If no new Covid-19 cases are detected in the next days, the Hanoi’s government may lower the epidemic alert level and partially ease social distancing orders in the city, Kinhtedothi.vn quoted Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung as saying at a April 20 meeting.

Chung said that as of April 20, Hanoi has not confirmed any new cases for six consecutive days, and thanks to strong measures, the city has basically controlled the pandemic after the past 100 days.

The Hanoi mayor asked Covid-19 convalescent patients to remain under quarantine for another 30 days to ensure no relapse.

Those who came back from abroad and underwent quarantine at concentrated centers must take self-isolation at home for another 14 days after being released.

"Otherwise, there will be a potential risk as these people can spread the virus without knowing it," Chung said.

He called on localities to continue to sensitize people to strictly obeying social distancing orders, punish people who do not wear face masks when leaving home. Non-essential stores and outdoor sports activities will remain suspended.

In the coming days, the possibility of new cases of Covid-19 infection is not ruled out, therefore, the capital city should continue to focus on seriously combating the Covid-19 pandemic.

As of April 21 morning, Hanoi has not recorded any new Covid-19 cases, keeping the case count at 112. Among the patients, 75 have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
