Hanoi party chief inspects SEA Games venues

Hanoi is one of the 11 cities and provinces to host 40 sports and 526 events.

Secretary of the Hanoi’s Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung toured the city’s venues that will serve the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) slated for May 12-23, 2022 in Vietnam.

On the field trip to three sports centers on Mar 24, Dung and municipal high-ranking officials checked the status of facilities and preparations for the biggest regional sports event.

Director of the National Sports Training Center Hanoi Nguyen Manh Hung said the building of the archery and shooting range has been finished while preparatory work for accommodation and healthcare of coaches and athletes are complete.

During the tour, the Hanoi’s Party chief reminded the centers’ leaders of good preparations in terms of facilities, technical support, and manpower to impress visitors with the good things that Hanoi can offer.  

He told the Hanoi team to try their best to show their strengths and be the major contributors to the success of the Vietnamese delegation at the 31st SEA Games.

Hanoi is among 11 cities and provinces hosting the SEA Games which will welcome some 7,000 participants to compete in 40 sports with 526 events. The city will be available for the highest number of sports namely Athletics, Gymnastics, Aerobics, Shooting, Taekwondo, Archery, Fencing, Judo, Wushu, Pencak silat, Wrestling, Vovinam, Dancesport, Kurash, Jujitsu, Swimming, Diving, Fin-swimming, Weightlifting, Men’s Football, Basketball, Sepak Takraw, Bodybuilding, Billiards, Pétanque, Bowling, and Esports.
