The city also successfully organized the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and the election of deputies to the Hanoi people's councils at all levels for the 2021 - 2026 term, and synchronously and smoothly deployed the urban government model in districts and towns from July 1, 2021, and building a strong political system at all levels.

“We drastically implemented the "dual goals", safely, flexibly and effectively controlling the Covid-19 pandemic, ensuring security, promoting production and business, and restoring and developing the economy,” Dung noted.

The capital city's economy has clearly shown the trend of growth recovery. Gross domestic product (GRDP) increased by 2.92%, while total State budget revenue exceeded 12.3% compared with that set by the Government. It has also ensured security and safety for events in the area, maintained political security, social order, and safety and peaceful environment of the city.

“We would like to thank and warmly commend all compatriots, comrades, soldiers, cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, laborers, and business community for their solidarity and great contribution to make up good achievement for the capital city in 2021,” Dung said in the message.

He said the year 2022 continues to be chosen as the "Year of discipline, responsibility, action, creativity, and development". From that work theme, the Party committees, authorities, Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations at all levels need to continue to strengthen administrative discipline, raise awareness, responsibility, and practical efficiency, performing official duties of the cadres and Party members, especially the responsibility of the leader.

“All will continue to focus on realizing tasks in building the Party and the political system, as well as performing the work on preventing and combating the epidemics, developing socio-economic, ensuring national defense and security, and enhancing foreign relations,” he added.

Welcoming the New Year of the Tiger, with the tradition of solidarity and aspiration to rise up and the love of Hanoi, Dung called on citizens, comrades, and soldiers to further contribute their hearts and minds to the capital city, successfully realizing the goals of building a civilized and modern capital city and prosperity of Vietnam, and firmly stepping up in the national industrialization and modernization process to embellish the thousand-year-old tradition of Thang Long - Hanoi, the city of heroes, the city for peace, worthy of the people's expectations and the love and affection of the whole country.
