Work on the Astronomy Park, with a total investment of about VND260 billion (US$10.6 million), started in 2017 and completed in the first quarter of 2020. The park, built on an area of more than 12 hectares with 6,000 square meters of water surface, is a public project for outdoor exercise, children and tourists.

The park was designed and built by the Malaysia-based EGO Group. It recreates the Big Bang and the formation of planets in the solar system.

Tran Bao Nam, 9, and his sister Tran Bao Anh spend the whole day at the weekend to enjoy activities there.

Upon the opening of the Astronomy Park, Chu Minh Khoi, 52, a visitor from La Khe Ward, Ha Dong District, brought his young child to visit the place. "It is good news for people living in the area to see the park open after such a long time. The park can help beautify the residential areas and provide outdoor spaces for children and the elderly," he said.

The Astronomy Park includes Zodiac Square, Milky Way Garden, Solar System Square, Moonlight Bridge, UFO Playground, Alien Square, Black Hole Pool, Light Fountain, and others.

Simulation models of the Earth, Sun and stars also help visitors, especially children, to get acquainted with some basic knowledge of astronomy.
