Hanoi Open Mathematics Competition 2019 concluded
Hanoi Open Mathematics Competition 2019 aimed to keep promoting the learning movement, especially mathematics among Vietnamese youth, and discover mathematical talents of Vietnam and the world.
The 16th Hanoi Open Mathematics Competition (HOMC 2019) concluded on April 5 with an awarding ceremony held in Vietnam’s capital city.
Candidates attending the HOMC are divided into two groups, the 13 international teams competed in Table A, Table B was for candidates from 24 provinces and cities of Vietnam.
Final results in Table A: The organizing board awarded nine gold medals (including four Vietnamese students), 17 silver medals and 26 bronze medals for contestants in the Junior category. As well, in the Senior category, eight contestants won gold medals (including two Vietnamese students), and 15 silver and 26 bronze medals were awarded.
In the Junior team competition, the Chinese team won the championship, the Vietnamese team 1 won the first prize. In the Senior team competition, the one from Indonesia won the title.
Besides showing the creativity and intelligence in the contest, the Vietnamese contestants were very active in Mathematics and culture debates. The exam closed with a unique cultural exchange.
This year, up to 14 delegations from Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Nepal, Philippines, Hungary, Iran, Myanmar, Poland, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Vietnam joined the HOMC 2019, which aimed to keep promoting the learning movement, especially maths among Vietnamese youth, and discover mathematical talents of Vietnam and the world.
