Hanoi: “Loving arms” program for supporting disadvantaged people
Hanoi People’s Committee recently organized the “Loving arms” program to raise fund for dangerous diseases prevention and treatment, support children infected and affected by dangerous diseases and disadvantaged people infected by dangerous diseases in the city.

The event saw the attendance of Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, Standing Vice Chairman of Hanoi's People Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy and many philanthropists.
Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy said that Hanoi has over 120,000 people suffering from dangerous diseases, including 18,000 ones living with HIV and 50,000 others with cancer and thousands of people with hepatitis, tuberculosis and other fatal diseases.
On behaft of Hanoi's leaders, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung presented deposit books to disadvantaged children infected by dangerous diseases in the city. In recent years, the prevention and control of diseases and epidemics in Hanoi has gained encouraging results.
The fund is a bridge between the city authorities at all level and the domestic and foreign organizations and individuals to donate money to support unfortunate patients suffering from serious diseases.
Over the past six years, the “Loving arms” program has mobilized nearly VND15 billion and two projects worth US$89,000 to support people living with HIV from hundreds of organizations, businesses and philanthropists.
