Hanoi launches competition to seek friendship ambassador for peace
HAUFO’s representative said that the competition is a cultural activity and art exchange for peace. Each candidate will act as an ambassador to spread the messages and deeds that contribute to promoting peace.
The Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HAUFO) and partners on October 8 launched a competition to seek Friendship Ambassador for Peace, Vietnam News Agency reported.
The event was held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Hanoi being recognized as City for Peace by UNESCO and the 65th anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation Day.
HAUFO’s representative said that the competition is a cultural activity and art exchange for peace. Each candidate will act as an ambassador to spread the messages and deeds that contribute to promoting peace.
The activity also aims to honor the artistic and cultural traits of Hanoi city through the beauty of costumes and styles of the contestants from various countries as well as promote the friendship and unity between Hanoi’s people and overseas friends, contributing to highlighting the capital’s images internationally.
So far, 40 female and 13 male candidates have registered to take part in the event.
After the launching ceremony, the candidates will join some social activities including presenting gifts to disadvantaged people in some districts of the city, reciting essays, displaying photos, and videos on the friendship among countries.
According to the competition’s regulations, the contestants must meet some criteria such as being Vietnamese living in Hanoi or abroad or foreigners studying or living in Hanoi, aged from 18 to 50, and being over 155cm tall. Besides, the candidates who underwent plastic surgeries or who are married also qualify for the contest.
The final of the competition will be held in the middle of November.
