Hanoi kicks off Monsoon Music Festival 2015

Monsoon Music Festival 2015, one of key cultural activities to celebrate the 61st anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day (October 10), took place at 8 pm on October 8 at the Thang Long Royal Citadel in Hanoi.
The second festival not only gives international-level music performances for spectators, but also tends to the civilized behavior of youths for heritage.
The festival attracted the participation of 100 local and foreign leading solo artists and bands from the UK, Belgium, Iceland, Japan.

On the opening night, audiences were "fire" with performances by leading stars such as singer Catfish (France), SAMARIS (Iceland), Zara McFarlane (UK), Thomas Oliver (New Zealand) and the Danish rock band Whomade Who.
Young Vietnamese pop stars participating the opening event included Vietnam Idol 2010 winner Uyen Linh, Toc Tien, Hoang Thuy Linh, Trung Quan, Tien Tien, Kimmese, Pham Anh Khoa, Dong Hung, Ta Quang Thang, Thai Chau and DJ SlimV.
Artists from Hanoi-based SpaceSpeakers, including Hoang Touliver, Kimmese, JustaTee, Cuong Seven, Mr.A, Soobin, Nhat Thu, BigDaddy, Rhymastic, DJ Teddy and Toc Tien, together with international artists like Samaris from Iceland and Zara Mcfarlane from England will share the stage on October 9.

On October 10, Joss Stone, queen of Soul/R&B from the UK will show a 90-minute performance. Besides, other artists including Matt Robertson, DJ Shinichi Osawa (Japan), and the Great Mountain Fire band from Belgium and Pak Band from Vietnam will perform in the the same day.
At the press conference in Hanoi, the festival’s Director Nguyen Quoc Trung committed to organise a higher quality festival, creating a new  and unique space for audiences to enjoy music performances.
Especially, audiences not only enjoy the performance, but also collect garbage in areas of the Thang Long Royal Citadel Thang Long Citadel.
At this year' festival, all activities are taking place at the grass, reflecting the sense of youths in the preservation and protection of heritage.
The festival will run until October 11.
