Hanoi invests in facilities for better medical examination and treatment

The Hanoi Department of Health expects to upgrade and build 10 new hospitals by 2020, providing 1,280 new patient beds.
Hanoi's healthcare sector will add another 420 patient beds to the city’s hospitals in 2019, increasing the total number of patient beds to 12,685, local media reported, citing the municipal Department of Health.

Hanoi's health sector sets target of having 22,502 patient beds by 2020. Of this number, public hospitals in the city will house 14,000 beds, or 62% of the total, and non-public hospitals 2,235 beds, accounting for 10%. The number of beds at central hospital under the Health Ministry in Hanoi will be raised to 6,267, accounting for 28%.

The Hanoi Department of Health expects to upgrade and build 10 new hospitals by 2020, and install 1,280 new patient beds. In addition, the number of beds at the ministry-run hospital in Hanoi will also increase by a thousand by 2020.

The department will submit to the Hanoi People's Committee for approval a project to develop key professional techniques and improve the quality of medical examination and treatment at the Hanoi Obstetrics hospital and Thanh Nhan hospital.

Besides, the department will learn international practices in developing master plan for Hanoi’s health sector, build a number of new modern facilities on par with developed countries in the region, establish high-tech and intensive development centers in many fields such as testing and screening genes, stem cells, umbilical cord bank, in vitro fertilization, among others.

Hanoi’s health sector will also continue to supervise professional regulations, minimize the accidents due to professional errors, change style and service attitude towards satisfaction for patients.
