Hanoi, Ile-de-France accelerate effective cooperation in various fields
Culture and tourism are two main fields of cooperation as the two sides have been working on the promotion and management of monuments and preservation of relics.
During three decades of cooperation, Hanoi and Ile-de-France, the French capital region, have cooperated effectively to carry out many projects in various fields including cultural industry development, heritage conservation, and environmental issues.
Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai made the statement while receiving the delegates from Ile-de-France, headed by Chairwoman Valérie Pécresse in Hanoi on July 16.
Hai highly valued the long-standing relationship between Vietnam and France, which was lifted to strategic partnership in 2013.
The head of the municipal Party Committee also emphasized that Ile-de-France has significantly energized the city’s development since many master plans of the city have received the support of the French region’s experts.
He believed that the visit of the French delegation will help maintain and further boost the relationship between Hanoi and Ile-de-France.
On the French side, Chairwoman of Ile-de-France Valérie Pécresse emphasized that the cooperation between the two localities is exemplary as Ile-de-France established its representative office in Hanoi, aiming at connecting Hanoi’ specialized agencies with its peers of Ile-de-France.
She also expressed her desire to witness the partnership between two sides to be expanded further to cover other urban and creative issues.
Pécresse thanked Hanoi authorities for creating favorable conditions for French and Ile-de-France enterprises to join in the Hanoi Urban Rail System Project Line 3 that connect Nhon and the Hanoi railway station.
She affirmed that French businesses are always willing to contribute their experiences to Hanoi’s projects that are designed to accelerate the city's development in the coming time.
She also emphasized that culture and tourism are also the main fields of cooperation as the two sides have been working on the promotion and management of monuments and preservation of relics.
