The festival is in response to Reading Culture Day (April 21) and World Book and Copyright Day (April 23).

On this occasion, publishers and book distributors in the locality will hold various activities, including a new book introduction event for Nha Nam JSC on April 15; a seminar titled “Think Positive, Live Confident” by Dinh Ti Trading and Cultural Service Co., Ltd on April 17; Children’s books introduction event of Kim Dong Publishing House on April 23, among others.

In addition, many bookstores on Hanoi Book Street, or December 19 Street, which links Hai Ba Trung and Ly Thuong Kiet Street in downtown Hanoi, will offer big discounts or hand over gifts to book-buyers on the occasion.

An online book fair 2022 will also take place on the website book365.vn with the message of "lighting the fire" of knowledge, spreading the reading culture, and contributing to the development of common knowledge.

Meanwhile, a book festival featuring face-to-face and live-stream activities helping readers to access information amid the Covid-19 pandemic will be held at the National Library of Vietnam.

In the framework of the event, a number of meetings and talk shows with writers are also arranged, along with a writing contest for young people to express their perceptions of a book.

As many as 1,000 book titles are being displayed by the embassies of 10 Spanish-speaking countries in Vietnam in the National Library of Vietnam.

Through the various activities, the organizers hope to raise public awareness of the importance of reading for improving knowledge and skills, developing thinking and fostering personality, as well as gradually building reading habits in families, schools, agencies, organizations, and communities.

The Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Festival 2022 are organized in response to the project "Fostering a Reading Culture in the Community, with an orientation to 2030”, initiated by the Prime Minister.

In recent years, a wide range of activities for spreading and developing the reading culture has been held nationwide, among them, the festival has become an annual cultural activity, attracting wide appreciation and interest from the community and gaining positive outcomes.

It not only honors the reading culture, contributes to the creation of a ‘learning society’, but also serves as an opportunity for people to improve their understanding of the rich national culture.
