Wholesale and retail, finance and banking, delivery, and information technology, are in need of labor force. The surge in the number of newly-established hospitality businesses since the beginning of 2022 will also magnify the labor demand of the city, according to the Hanoi Center for Employment Services.
After the Lunar New Year, many businesses have announced job vacancies for a number of positions offering a high salary. Jumbo Tu Phuong Packaging Factory is recruiting more than 100 workers with a monthly salary of VND7-12 million (US$305-523). Creative Investment and Production JSC is seeking 87 skilled and unskilled workers, construction supervisors, truck drivers with a monthly salary of VND8-15 million ($349-653).
Despite the level of income offered, the number of job seekers was few. Many of the businesses have to resort to the Hanoi job exchange system to find qualified personnel.
Currently, Viet Nhat Medical Equipment Investment JSC is seeking 15 employees for sale positions, radiologists, technicians, and nurses. Duong Van Quan, Deputy Director of Human Resources said the company plans to set up a chain of clinics, so the recruitment demand is huge in the near future.

Assessing the labor market after the 2022 Lunar New Year in Hanoi, Vu Quang Thanh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Center for Employment Services said the hiring demand has increased due to the companies’ production expansion.
He suggested: “The Government and the city’s authority should have policies to support local businesses to restore their operations since the beginning of the year as the labor market has been recovering."
The Hanoi's Center for Employment Services also continuously organized daily and online job trading sessions for seven provinces and cities. This is an activity to implement the Hanoi People's Committee’s Plan No. 34 on supporting and developing the labor market, creating jobs for people in the capital.
“Based on forecasts and recruitment targets, we will prepare a suitable supply to meet the requirements of enterprises. In addition, we will organize job-matching events between job seekers and businesses,” Thanh said.
Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Sales Manager of Viet Nhat Medical Equipment Investment JSC said with the rapid development of 4.0 technology, the center has regularly hosted online job sessions to seek suitable employees, and ensure the prevention of the pandemic.
